The short version: we require no account, show no ads, run no analytics, and never track you across apps or websites. Your learning progress stays on your device. Two features process data only to work — pronunciation practice (your voice) and prayer times (your approximate location) — as explained below.

What We Do Not Do

Asmaal Husna:

• Requires no account and no sign-up.
• Stores your learning progress (streaks, learned names, settings) only on your device, using local storage. This data never leaves your device.
• Contains no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind — your data is never used to track you across other apps or websites.

The app uses only two types of data, each solely to make a feature work, never linked to your identity and never used for tracking: your voice (pronunciation practice) and your approximate location (prayer times). Both are explained below.

Network Requests

The app makes only two kinds of network request, and neither sends personal data or device identifiers:

• It fetches the Qur'an from the public API at alquran.cloud: the verses that show each Name in its Quranic context. Only a verse reference (chapter and verse number) is sent. The Arabic text of the built-in Qur'an reader (Tanzil.net) is included in the app and needs no connection. When you choose to listen, the recitation and its timings are streamed: by any of the six sheikhs (Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary, Mohamed Siddiq Al-Minshawi, Maher Al-Muaiqly, Mahmoud Ali Al-Banna, Ahmed Nuaina, Muhammad Al-Luhaidan) from Quran.com's servers (download.quranicaudio.com and api.qurancdn.com), except three of Sheikh Al-Luhaidan's surahs, which come from mp3quran.net (cdn.mp3quran.net); in the reader's Study mode, the word-by-word pronunciation, the sound of each word, the translations and the Arabic explanation (Tafsir al-Muyassar) come from the same servers (api.qurancdn.com and audio.qurancdn.com). They are only asked for a surah's, a page's or a verse's number.
• When you use the optional pronunciation practice, your voice clip is sent — transiently and anonymously — to our pronunciation-assessment provider (Microsoft Azure AI Speech) to compute a score. See "Microphone" below.

Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No push-notification service or external server is involved.

Location (Prayer Times)

To show accurate prayer times, the app uses your approximate location. This is used only to calculate the prayer schedule for your area, is not linked to your identity, and is never used for tracking. Your location is not stored on our servers or shared with anyone. You can decline the location permission and still use the rest of the app.

Microphone

The optional pronunciation practice feature analyzes your recitation to give you a score. Your voice clip is processed transiently — either by your device's built-in speech services, or by securely sending it to our pronunciation-assessment provider (Microsoft Azure AI Speech) solely to compute the score. The clip is never stored by us, is not linked to your identity, and is discarded after processing. Microsoft does not retain audio submitted for pronunciation assessment. To keep the service free and prevent abuse, the app sends a random anonymous install code with each check; our server only keeps irreversibly hashed daily counters of checks per install code and per network address, which expire automatically after two days.

Retention, Deletion, and Your Choices

Voice clips are discarded as soon as the pronunciation request is complete. Approximate location, learning progress, and preferences remain only on your device. You can delete learning data with the reset control in Settings, remove all remaining local data by deleting the app or clearing its website data, and revoke microphone, location, or notification permission at any time in your device settings.

Children's Privacy

The app is suitable for all ages. We do not create accounts, build profiles, run advertising, or knowingly retain personal data from children. Optional voice processing and on-device approximate location work as described above for every user.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "last updated" date.
